I’m a Limited Permit therapist with Steuben County Community Services. My specialty is in the intersection of LGBTQIA+, Polyamory, and/or Kink’s with counseling. I’m trained in Person Centered Therapy and practice using a mix of different counseling styles based on what works best for my clients.
In my undergraduate I received a B.A. in Sexuality Studies with a focus on Adolescent Sexuality and Sexual Education from The Ohio State University. While completing my Master’s at Alfred University I taught a series of extracurricular pleasure positive inclusive sex education sessions. After completing that program I attended the London School of Economics and Political Science where I studied Sexuality where I focused on Kink and wrote my dissertation about the London Rope Community.
As an individual I’ve been involved in various kink communities since around 2015, as such I’m not only kink aware but kink friendly and knowledgeable. If I don’t know your kink, I’m excited to do the research on my own to learn more and make sure you feel comfortable in session.
To schedule with me call the Corning office (number listed below, without extension). You may have to have an intake session with another clinician but you can request me as your counselor. If you are not a resident of Steuben County you may be able to get an exception to use our services. If this is not possible please feel free to email me and I’ll see how I can help.
Dr. Weeks is a Doctor of Oriental Medicine who is an NCCAOM board certified Diplomat of Oriental Medicine. He is also registered as a Licensed Acupuncturist in Oregon. Dr. Weeks trained in acupuncture and herbal medicine at the Southwest Acupuncture College in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Dr. Weeks also trained in the Atlas 33 Structural Decompression technique under Dr. John Heuertz after witnessing the technique’s tremendous impact on pain relief and improving quality of life. He also became certified in the Advanced Allergy Therapeutics technique because of it’s fantastic ability to provide long-term relief from the body’s inappropriate reactions to allergens.
He is currently earning a certificate in Kiiko Matsumoto style acupuncture, which involves an advanced form of palpation providing instant feedback on how well the treatment is working. It also uses a shallow and virtually painless style of needling using the smallest gauge needles. This style also includes a variety of eclectic and effective non-invasive techniques which provide many options for treating even the most complicated patients.
Certified in Neuroacupuncture, Dr. Weeks frequently serves as a volunteer assisting with the Level 1 and Level 2 training of students at the Neuroacupuncture Institute of Santa Fe. His success treating complicated central nervous system disorders has fueled his passion for this very innovative method of treatment.
Dr. Weeks came to medicine after spending many years studying and teaching history at the university level. Prior to his studies at Southwest Acupuncture College, Dr. Weeks had completed all the tests and prerequisites to begin Western Medical School. The change in approach from Western to Eastern was precipitated by his experiences with Chinese Medicine and the efficacy with which acupuncture and herbs were able to treat the majority of common quality of life maladies like pain, allergies, obgyn disorders, as well as digestive and mental health issues.
His passion has always been helping people to feel well and enjoy life and using a medicine that allows him to do so effectively is the basis of his practice. In his free time, Shawn enjoys laughing and living life with his wife and two daughters, martial arts, cooking, gardening, reading, and dancing.
It is the mission of Ouroboros Therapeutic Arts to change the world one person at a time through holistic healing and health. Using a combination of massage therapy techniques and modalities, energy healing, myofascial release, holistic wellness coaching, and empowerment through education, Kristina strives to aid her clients in living pain-free lives by managing and reducing chronic pain; recover from accidents, injuries, and surgeries; and release and heal from their traumas. She believes that helping individuals heal themselves will create an effect similar to a ripple in a pond, expanding outward and healing communities.
Kristina has been a Licensed and Registered Massage Therapist in New York State since 2017. She is also a certified practitioner of the John F. Barnes’ Myofascial Release Approach®, and an Energy Healer, using both hands-on and hands-off energy healing techniques. The John F. Barnes’ Myofascial Release Approach® has become an integral part of her practice, and more she learns about this powerful modality, the more important it becomes to her personal life, the practice, and the more passionate she become about sharing it with her clients and community.
She is also a certified practitioner of Kineseology Taping, or K-Tape, and Myofascial Cupping. Both K-Tape and Myofascial Cupping are used to aid in pain management, nerve entrapment, proprioception, stabilization, decompression of tissues, postural correction, and more. Myofascial Cupping is offered free of charge during therapeutic massage sessions. K-Taping is offered as an add-on, and works well as an adjunct to therapeutic massages and Myofascial Release sessions.
The healing studio is located in her home, and as such all sessions are by appointment only; no walk-ins available.
I love working with people in various kinds of alternative lifestyles. I particularly enjoy working with people who are exploring polyamory (responsible non-monogamy) and/or who are working on the issues that a polyamorous lifestyle entails. I am polyamorous and I support people choosing the lifestyle that’s right for them, whether that’s poly or monogamy. Frequent presenter at national poly conferences. Over 35 years experience with poly issues. Phone sessions also available. Sliding scale.
