More About Trevia’s Approach
Trevia’s work is trauma-informed, attachment & relational focused. Rather than treating protective patterns as something wrong with you, she helps you become curious about what those patterns have been trying to accomplish and whether they are still serving you.
Trevia also sees healing as relational and connected to something larger than the individual. We live in an insecure world shaped by our family, culture, community, history, and the systems we live in. Because of this, she is interested not only in a client’s inner world, but also in helping them build the community and interdependence they need to thrive.
Trevia’s Big Three
-
Building self-understanding and self-compassion
Together, we’ll get curious about the patterns that have helped you survive and adapt. Understanding yourself more deeply can create room to redirect shame and develop a more compassionate relationship with the parts of you that have worked so hard to keep you safe.
-
Cultivating Interdependence and Community
You weren’t meant to do everything alone. To “pull yourself up by your bootstraps”. Trevia helps clients explore what meaningful connection looks like for them and develop practical community-building skills. Sometimes the community that works for us isn’t the one we were taught to look for.
-
Attachment and Relational Healing
Relationships are often where our protective patterns show up most clearly. Trevia works with clients to develop a felt sense of what secure relating can look and feel like, while creating space to practice communication, boundaries, repair, and authenticity. Therapy itself can become a place to practice being known without having to abandon yourself.
