I believe that marriage and couples counseling is designed to help people in a relationship, married or not, to understand and resolve the conflicts that have been long-standing. I believe that marriage and couples counseling is designed to help people in a relationship, married or not, to understand and resolve the conflicts that have been long-standing. I work to provide a safe non-judgmental environment for the couple to navigate their issues and for them to build the tools to improve communication for negotiation. During family counseling, my focus is to help the family resolve issues that are impacting them as a whole, rather than singling out one individual. The behavior of one member is often a reflection of an issue within the family as a unit. I utilize the Structural Family Therapy model which views the family as a system made up of smaller systems and hierarchies that contribute to the family's functioning as a unit. My goal is to support the family to improve communication, relating, and negotiating to empower them as a whole. I am a kink-knowledgeable professional as I am accepting, knowledgeable and familiar with alternative lifestyles including but not limited to BDSM, power exchange, polyamory, swinging and cross dressing. I am graduate student at Walden University completing my Master of Science degree in marriage, couples, and family counseling.
