Need Change?
If you’re searching for a safe space to explore your identities, learn how to manage life stressors, deal with emotional baggage that weighs you down, or equip yourself with tools to reach your goals, you’ve taken an important first step towards change. In the space we’ll build together during our work, I’ll strive to help you recognize patterns, learn about yourself, and develop skills and awareness that allow you to move towards the best version of your life and yourself.
Approaches
My approach to therapy is rooted in the idea that once someone understands their own feelings, thoughts, and reactions, both in the context of their personal experiences and larger societal forces, and has skills to manage those feelings, communicate effectively, and cope healthily, they can bloom in ways that allow greater peace, deeper connections, and a more balanced way of life. My goal is to use narrative, cognitive behavioral, dialectical behavior, feminist, and solution-focused therapeutic strategies in a culturally sensitive way that empowers you and meets you where you’re at, just as you are. My eclectic approach incorporates non-judgmental stance, feedback, and collaboration that focuses on you as the expert on your experiences. I see my role as someone who walks beside you for a time, holding hope for you and providing you with knowledge and support.
Areas of Focus
I specialize in working with children, teens, adolescents, and families, as well as the LGBTQIA+, non-monogamous, and BDSM/kink communities. I have experience working with people who have struggles or concerns in the following areas: depression, anxiety, trauma, ADHD, self-injury, suicidal thoughts and feelings, academic performance, body image, gender identity and expression, peer relationships, sexual orientation and sexuality, relational difficulties, and parenting.

About Kathryn
I’m a queer, non-monogamous nerd who uses she/her pronouns and was born and raised in California. Outside of work, I enjoy time with my family and loved ones, videogames, creativity in writing and art, travel, and playing hide-and-go-seek with my cat. I’m passionate about dinosaurs, the importance of language, and body equality. My passion for helping others improve their lives through empathetic witnessing and collaboration can be traced all the way back to high school and is what drew me to the mental health field.
