I am a queer white Ashkenazi femme 4th generation Philadelphian, rooted ritual and radical organizing is my Jewish legacy. I am the founding rabbi of Hinenu, a warm and joyful congregation in Baltimore, MD. I graduated from the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College in the spring of 2018. I am a graduate of 12 years of Jewish day school education in suburban Philadelphia, and hold a BA with distinction from Boston University in Sociology with a minor in Womens, Sexuality, and Gender Studies (obviously.)
I am the co-author of “For Times Such as These: a radical’s guide to the Jewish year” with Rabbi Jessica Rosenberg from Wayne State University Press. I created and hosted Kaddish, a podcast about death and identity, and co-host God Crush with Pastor Lura Groen. I am a member of the Jewish Voice for Peace Rabbinical Council, and co-creator of the Radical Jewish Calendar. I briefly operated a micro-Judaica shop called The Little Shop at Motzi Bakery focusing on diaspora-made Judaica. I am a member of the Reconstructionst Rabbinic Association (you can read about our rabbinic code of ethics here.)
I am passionate about abortion clinic escorting, diaspora-made Judaica, Jewish time, care webs, marching bands, talking to strangers (Elijah? Is that you?) and queer aesthetics. I live in Baltimore, MD with my spouse and our toddler, and chosen family both logical and biological.
