Business Description

About:

Hey there! I am an individual and relationship therapist who uses intuition to guide the therapy process, tailoring each session to the unique needs of the client. In my work with clients, I believe that each person has their own intuition, and that this inner wisdom holds the key to what is most important in their healing journey. Sessions with me are built on the foundation of consent, as I understand the importance of navigating the power dynamics in therapy. This approach ensures that clients feel empowered and in control of their experience.

In addition to consent, I tend to integrate curiosity, humor, body awareness, mindfulness, and relational power into our practice to help clients explore and work through their challenges.

Approach:

I use a systemic, sociocultural-attuned, and queer-informed lens when working with clients. By blending awareness with curiosity, I aim to create a space where clients feel truly heard and empowered. Working with me may prompt you to ask, “What happens when you put societal norms aside and focus on what you truly want?” I believe these questions can help foster a therapeutic space that is welcoming to all identities and lifestyles. Most importantly, working with me will hopefully create inner confidence to carry these insights outside of the therapy room.
My therapeutic interventions are drawn from Narrative Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Somatic Therapy.

Experience:

Kathy is a graduate of Thomas Jefferson University’s Couple and Family Therapy program, with a focus on Sex Therapy. During her time at Thomas Jefferson, she interned at Council for Relationships where she managed a diverse caseload and deepened her clinical interests. Prior to becoming a therapist, Kathy spent 9 years in the technology sector, working with people across various roles and industries.

She has been a member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) since September 2023 and the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT) since October 2024.
