I have experience counseling and supporting the specific needs of adults, families and young adults with compassion and a deep respect for the unique experiences that color our lives.I am an AASECT Certified Sex Therapist, trained to provide in-depth psychotherapy, specialized in treating clients experiencing sexual issues, as well as being experienced in working with the poly, sex positive, and kink communities.Many of us have worked through the coming out process, found our authentic sexual expressions, and are comfortable with our sexual orientation and gender identity. However, we often remain concerned about professionals who may not be accepting or culturally aware. I provide a warm and supportive environment for those who are kinky, polyamorous, identify as sex positive, or as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersexed and questioning. It is my desire to create an environment that can help you to address and recover from emotional issues while affirming your unique identity.

There are I've been a sexual health educator, researcher, and advocate for 25 years, and I fundamentally believe that being free to express one's unique and beautiful sexuality, without shame, is the closest thing the real world has to a key to happiness. There are 5 criteria used in my practice to determine if a client's sexuality is “healthy”. If a person and their partner(s) are: 1. Consenting 2. Adult 3. Human 4. Alive 5. Having their lives enhanced… …it's probably healthy, and probably not the problem! We'll look at the way in which sexuality influences your life, but if it fits in with the above, and you don't identify it as an issue, we'll look elsewhere! We'll look at the way your family, your experiences, your society, your physiology, and your beliefs about yourself and the world around you play into your concerns – as well as anything else you (the ultimate expert on yourself!) bring to the table. I work with individuals age 13 and older, intimate partners age 18 and older, and families with children of any age. I do not currently bill insurance, but am happy to provide any necessary paperwork. You're absolutely amazing – I look forward to hearing from you!

Working from a holistic perspective, along with the client, we review all the areas of a client's background to help form the best direction for therapy. I work with individuals of all ages, as well as couples, and families in a collaborative fashion. My key areas of interest include alternative family structures, kink, sexuality, grief, and trauma. I work from a family systems perspective that is strongly informed by feminist theory and cultural humility. My goal is to form a synergistic relationship with client to help them to raise their self-esteem, recognize their strengths, and create positive goals. In addition to my clinical training as a therapist, I spent over ten years working as a birth and postpartum doula and childbirth education which gives me a unique background for working with families. I work with people in the Pioneer Valley of MA area (Northampton, Easthampton, Hadley, Holyoke, etc.) and I do offer telehealth sessions. Update: as of Fall 2020, I see all clients via Telehealth due to concerns of safety in the time of COVID.
