As an experienced sex-positive advocate, and educator much of my hypnotherapy practice concern sexuality in all its forms. This includes working with individuals in the BDSM, D/s, polyamory, transgender and LGBTQ/gender communities. I have an extensive personal and professional background in these communities and have found that the root cause of many sexual concerns is often best explored through hypnotherapy . Some experience hypnotherapy as a more direct route to what they want to work through, by-passing the limits of what verbal communication alone offers. As such, HT can be an excellent adjunct to psychotherapy/talk therapy. At its best, with the guidance of a hypnotherapist, the expanded state of HT accesses the extra resources of your subconscious mind. For example, if you are a transgendered individual preparing for sexual reassignment surgery, HT may be used before, during and after your surgery. This modality offers a good way to support the psychological transition issues on a deeper/deep level. Or, because all of us hold both feminine and masculine energies to different degrees, perhaps you want to become more fluid and expansive in your gender roles. If you are dealing with pre-ejaculation issues, re-mapping your mind/body system through HT can be a valuable resource towards taking charge of your own orgasms. I have been a BDSM D/s mentor for both private and professional players for many years (under a different name). In creating dominant or submissive play personas, hypnotherapy offers an excellent way to get down to and discover the source of your own power, as well as a way to work through blocks inhibiting your growth. *Old programming from familial and religious backgrounds often conflicts with the freedom of expanding your relationships and sexual practices. When you find that the old rules inhibit instead of serving, HT can be a powerful tool towards accessing your unconscious beliefs. This process often involves reframing/addressing guilt, shame, societal expectations and sometimes, significant trauma. I am a certified Somatic Sex Educator working with women, queer, and gender-fluid individuals in San Francisco, CA. I believe passionately in the right to sexual expression for every body and specialize in pelvic pain and education and advocacy with people with disabilities and illness. Sexuality is a complex identity including relational, physiological, and emotional elements, but it is rooted in the lived experience of the body. I am particularly passionate about providing support when our bodies change. Perhaps things “just don't work the same way” after surgery, injury, medical treatment, or the onset of chronic illness. Or perhaps sexual response and pleasure sensations are reduced after childbirth. Sexological Bodywork creates a safe container in which these concerns can be safely explored, understood, and transformed Maybe nothing has changed, per say...you just know there has to be more to your sexuality. You desire to connect deeply with your own desire, to REALLY know what you want, and to be able to express that to your partner(s).
