David Ortmann, co-author of the book "Sexual Outsiders: Understanding BDSM Sexualities and Communities," has a private psychotherapy and sex therapy practice in both Manhattan and San Francisco catering to the needs of people in the Kink, Fetish, Leather, BDSM, and Erotic Powerplay communities. It is my practice to work with anyone who is suffering or on a journey of self discovery. Couples counseling focuses on creating a shared experiences which lead to satisfying resolutions. I co-run groups for women recovering from sexual trauma and bereavement groups for people who have experienced the loss of a loved one. I am a Licensed MFT (#115452). I work from a depth perspective, focusing on the whole person -- who you are, who you've been, and who you want to become. Working with me is intense, deeply personal, and can lead to satisfying and lasting changes in yourself and your relationships. It can be slow and awkward, but we will take the time to get it right.
