My primary approach to counseling is the person-centered approach. This means I believe that no one knows you better than you do, and it is my job to help you identify goals, develop solutions and coping skills, improve communication, strengthen self-esteem, and promote optimal mental health. You are in the driver’s seat, I am just a GPS to help you on the road to better mental health. It’s my job to help you to deal with your issues in a safe, non-judgmental environment, regardless if that environment is in person or via telehealth. More than one in six adults is living with some sort of mental illness and there should be no stigma in seeking help. 

I am eager to work with clients of all types and issues. I have strength with teen and adult ADHD. I also have a specific focus on sexual issues and sexual minorities, not just the LGBTQ+ community, but also those involved in ethical non-monogamy, kink, and other “non-traditional” relationships.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New York State.

I have received my Master's in Social Work with a specialty in Mental Health and Military Social Work from the University of Southern California. I also received a Doctorate in Social Work from USC as well. I have been a social worker since 2013 and have worked with various populations including children, veterans, families and incarcerated people. My approach to therapy is to guide you in identifying the root cause of the feelings and symptoms you are currently experiencing. By identifying this, we will work together on thought processes and behaviors that are keeping you “stuck.” With the root cause identified, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy techniques in order to adapt, change or develop new coping skills and thoughts. I believe that transformation is a collaborative process. My hope is that I can help guide you to identify and meet your goals. In my practice, I welcome all ideas, opinions and lifestyles. I am kink and poly friendly. I want you to feel open and comfortable discussing any topic you may want to work on. I believe that “keeping it real” in session is important. I believe in incorporating sensory tools as well as religious and cultural tools as appropriate. Each relationship should be tailored to meet your specific needs. I provide services in the evening on weekdays.

I am a licensed clinical social worker who practices both individual and couples therapy. I specialize in working with clients from diverse backgrounds.

Welcome! I provide a nurturing environment into which we bring our curiosity about you. My approach employs multiple tools so we can discover which ones feel right: traditional talk therapy, holistic body-based or somatic exploration, behavior-changing tasks, or depth psychology approaches such as dream work. For those in relationships, additional tools include broadening communication skills and clarifying interactional patterns. Finally, because past experiences feed into our social interactions, the inclusion of current trauma science can deepen our work together. I am trained in the Trauma Resiliency Model (CRM and TRM1) and practice mindfulness-based EMDR.

At Hampton House Counseling our goal is to provide a safe therapeutic space for anyone who feels different, out of place, non-traditional, or pushed to the margins. We especially welcome those in the LGBTQ+ and BIPOC populations. I personally have a high degree of comfort with the kink community, and would love to work with interested clients.
